Favoritestown is a fun and innovative way to organise your internet favorites and your PC files and programs.

Favoritestown is based on the very simple idea that using your computer programs, viewing your computer files and visiting your favorite internet sites is just like visiting the buildings of your very own favorite town. All of your computer files, computer programs and internet favorites can be organised into the buildings of a town.

Favoritestown is a picture of a small and friendly town on a sunny day. You can enter any building by clicking on it. You can set the content of each building yourself by dragging in program icons or by setting up links to the folders on your computer and your favorite internet sites. For example, in “My House” I can drag and drop an icon that allows me to view TV on the internet onto the picture of a TV. I can drag and drop my internet phone icon onto the picture of a telephone and drag and drop my DVD player program icon onto the picture of the DVD player.

I can link the picture of a Photo Album on a shelf to the folder on my computer that holds my pictures and link the picture of a shelf of DVDs to the folder in which I store my movies. There is also a picture of a CD player and a shelf of music CDs and other pictures too.

Whenever I want to watch the TV or a movie, read the news or listen to music – things that I do at home – then I click on the picture of “My House” and then click on the relevant picture.

There are many other buildings in Favoritestown, everything you need in fact. In the Library I can search for information using internet search engines and encyclopaedia sites. At the Bank I can manage my money via my internet accounts. If I want to buy something on the internet I visit the Shopping Mall. There are book and music stores, food and sports stores and many more.

A visit to the Travel Agent allows me to book hotels, flights and holidays. At the Train Station I can check train times and order tickets. In My Office I can use my word processor and other office programs and check my work related email. At the News Stand I can find newspapers, magazines, travel guides, maps and buy lottery tickets. When visiting the Chat Café I can speak with my friends using my messenger programs, home email, and various internet sites such as chat rooms and community centres.

There are many other buildings too and if you can’t find one that’s appropriate to your specific needs then there are some customisable buildings too.

All of the buildings contain Help on how to populate the buildings and advice on which of your programs, files and internet sites you should populate the building with.

Once you have populated Favoritestown it will enhance your computer and internet experiences a hundredfold. Using your favorite computer programs, files and internet sites becomes an intuitive and fun experience.
